I have an anniversary coming up. A silver anniversary. Rosemary and I will be together for 25 years this spring. I don’t bring her up too often in this blog, but you might remember me speaking of Rosemary on a couple occasions. She is my little red roadster, and is the longest adult relationship I’ve had.

Have you been with any one, or any thing, for any appreciable length of time. We did an Uplift post at ROAMcare on long-lasting love. I was inspired to write it when I read an article in the local paper about how scientists have “figured out” what makes some relationships last. Actually the article had little to do with the headline. It was really a discussion about some scientific studies that are tracking the neural responses in long term relationship couples, but its bend, as is with much of what will pop up in the news in February, is toward romantic love, passion, and sexual attraction.
Considering we hadn’t read anything in mainstream media about the other 6 kinds of love, we thought we needed to point out that there are other long term relationships out there. Some even invovling people, like normal, regular, everyday people!
If you’d like to see what we had to say, pop on over and give But do you love me a quick read. While you’re there, consider joining the ROAMcare community and subscribe to have Uplift delivered to your email as soon as it hits the website. In addition to an Uplift release every Wednesday, you will also receive weekly our Monday Moment of Motivation and the email exclusive Flashback Friday repost of one of our most loved publications every Friday. All free and available now at ROAMcare.org.

Oh, Rosemary. May I call her Rosie? Happy Almost Anniversary, you two! You look good together. 💕
Thank you! I’m not sure how she’d feel about the diminutive. I don’t see why not.
🥰❤️🥰
I’m happy for you and Rosemary. She is awesome, in her looks as well as her ability to put up with you for all these years.
She’s not so bad. Always willing to go wherever I supplest and likes the same kind of music. If I can be just a little too toxically male, I must say she looks good on the beach.
😁
She’s beautiful.
Not bad for an old gal. Most people don’t think she’s got that many years on her.
She looks well taken care of, and not abused. How many miles are on the engine?
.
I’ve got a ’99 that’s been modified into a track car… complete opposite of yours. But like they say; Miata is always the answer.
.
She’s been pampered since the day she got here. 38,000 miles give or take a few. All original except tires, battery, and a coil pack. I’ve added a shock tower brace and put a quick release on the battery. Inside the only upgrade has been a lighter powered FM transmitter so I can use my phone although the seats are due for a freshening.
Nice write-up on yours. Good looking car. Love the twin stripes.
Wow… your car and my car couldn’t be more different, despite rolling off the same factory line, and both being driven by incredibly good looking men.
.
A quick release on the battery. Jeepers, why didn’t I ever think of that. My quick release is the 10mm wrench permanently positioned in my shirt pocket!
Haha! Yeah, one winter of constantly scraped knuckles was the inspiration for that little gadget!
Congratulations to you and Rosemary! The fact that you named your car such a wonderfully old-fashioned romantic type name says volumes. But I do appreciate how you have described the seven kinds of love and remarked on the value of seeing past the simple “love” of whatever strikes our fancy in the moment. But 25 years? That’s a mile-marker, my friend.
Thank you Dayle. I think it might speak even more volumes that the only relationship I can maintain long term comes with 4 wheels and a top that’s hard to fold down when it’s cold.
my wife and I will hit our big 20 in a couple of months – pretty amazing feeling isn’t it? congrats to you and your wife!
Thank you. Congratulations to you and those are truly deserved. I can’t really accept yours to me. My 25 years have been not with a wife. No, Rosemary is my car. Still…pretty it’s amazing!
